December marks the time when the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce begins planning one of its most anticipated events of the year — Lake Oswego Chamber Honors: the community’s annual awards celebration honoring the people and businesses whose efforts help make Lake Oswego a thriving, connected, and caring community.

Behind the scenes, an Awards Committee convenes in September to identify those who go “above and beyond” in service to others. These recognitions shine a light on individuals and organizations whose efforts contribute to a well-functioning, thoughtful, and inclusive community — one where relationships are valued and civic pride runs deep.

Each year’s honorees are chosen from among categories such as the Dee Denton Business of the Year (named for the Chamber’s long-time and much-loved director, the late Dee Denton), Community Leader of the Year, Rookie of the Year (celebrating a new business that dives right into community life), Chamber Champion (recognizing a dedicated advocate and volunteer), and Beautification Awards. When a local business reaches a rare milestone of 100 years in operation, the Chamber also presents the Century Award.

In 2024, the Chamber introduced the Bill Korach Leadership Award in honor of Dr. Korach’s nearly 40 years of leadership and mentorship in the “Leadership LO” program. The inaugural award was presented to Brian Monihan, publisher of The Lake Oswego Review, whose work continues to strengthen civic dialogue and community connection.

The evening’s most prestigious honor — the Bob Bigelow Lifetime Achievement Award - is named after the past publisher of the Lake Oswego Review who passed away unexpectedly and was a driving force in the community. The award is selected by a committee of past recipients. This award recognizes individuals or couples whose volunteer contributions have shaped the fabric of Lake Oswego life.

Chamber Honors are more than a celebration — they’re a reflection of what makes Lake Oswego special: the relationships, leadership, and generosity that bind neighbors, businesses, and organizations together. The 2025 Chamber Honors will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Ironlight. The event is open to the public. To register, visit www.lakeoswegochamber.com. Early bird tickets are available at a discounted rate.
