Briefly tell us about your business 

We are Olga and Ashton Courson, the husband-and-wife team behind Signature Surfaces PDX, a woman- and minority-owned flooring company based in Canby. We specialize in concrete polishing, epoxy coatings, and surface restoration for both residential and commercial spaces. While our business is new, we bring years of experience. 

Share your story

We started Signature Surfaces PDX because we wanted to build something together that combined our skills and values. Ashton spent years in the flooring and concrete trade, mastering everything from surface preparation to high-end finishing. I was born in Moldova and immigrated to the U.S. when I was eight. Starting over in a new country at a young age taught me resilience and the importance of adapting quickly — lessons that still shape how I approach both life and business, as part of this community. 

What makes you unique?

What sets us apart is how personally we approach every project. We’re a small, hands-on team, so every job gets our full attention. Ashton brings the technical expertise to ensure every surface performs and lasts, while I focus on communication and client experience. Together, we make the process as seamless as the finished product.

Community Connection

We love being part of Canby’s supportive, close-knit community. Events like First Thursday Market give us a chance to connect directly with locals and other small business owners. 

Chamber Experience

The Canby Area Chamber of Commerce has been such a great resource for us as a growing small business. The team there has made us feel welcome and supported. Attending Chamber events like the luncheons and mixers has also helped us build relationships we truly value. We’re excited to keep learning, contributing, and growing alongside other local businesses. 

Final Thoughts

One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that growth takes time. Every project teaches you something new. Our advice would be to stay consistent, stay teachable, and take pride in your work — the small wins add up and over time, they become something you can truly be proud of.
