Founded in 1997, Cascade Furniture has spent 28 years building a reputation for high-quality merchandise and exceptional customer service. Today, the Vancouver, Washington-based store serves more than 11,000 Clark County families.
We spoke with Jordan Wright, daughter of owner Jon Wright and Cascade Furniture’s Principal Interior Designer, about the company’s design offerings and why it has become such an indispensable part of its community.
Located right outside Portland, Cascade Furniture’s Vancouver location offers easy access to thousands of furniture shoppers every year. When they step foot in the freshly remodeled 20,000-square-foot showroom, curious shoppers can speak with one of the design consultants who works on the floor.
Those team members are amply equipped to help customers find furniture, but sometimes redesigning a space requires a professional touch. That’s where Wright comes in.
“We start with an in-home consultation where we chat about each client’s goals, and talk about material preferences,” says Wright. “Then I take measurements and pictures and head back to Cascade to create the moodboard, floor plan, and individualized renderings. After that is all ready, I invite the client back into the store for our purchasing presentation.”
For Wright, the best part of design isn’t making the sale: it’s helping customers build the perfect space. “We truly are like your biggest cheerleaders and your biggest helpers. We just want to help you build a beautiful space.”
“Interior designers get a bad rap for going into people’s homes and telling them to throw everything out and start new,” says Wright. “That’s not me. I love the unique pieces that people bring to the equation.”
Visitors to Cascade Furniture shouldn’t have any issues finding the right pieces to complete their homes. The showroom is expansive, and Wright and the Cascade Furniture team ensure that new pieces are consistently introduced.
“We do larger refreshes at least twice a year,” says Wright, adding, “But we’re constantly working on refreshing the floor. So I would say every week you’re going to see something new.”
“For me, it’s just incredibly special,” Wright says of her work. “I grew up here. I love the people, I love the environment. I think that’s what sets us apart. It’s all about relationships. It’s not just a person walking through the door. It’s a friend. It’s a neighbor. It’s someone we truly care about.”
“Community is all about supporting each other,” concludes Wright. “It’s about helping our customers where we can, and helping the community where we can. I also want to give credit to our outstanding team at Cascade, that I am incredibly blessed to get to work with each day.”
