Happy Cows = Better Beef

For those who care about where their meat comes from and how the animals are raised, Better Beef Company is redefining what quality meat can be. Founded on the belief that happy, well-cared-for cattle produce the best-tasting beef, they’ve built a brand rooted in humane ranching practices, sustainable methods, and exceptional flavor. From pasture to plate, Better Beef Company brings customers an extraordinary product they can feel good about!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Brennen Sorah, a man wearing many hats within the organization, and it was abundantly clear to me what a passionate and conscientious crew they have running this business. It all began in 2021 when owner and rancher, Elwood Martin, shifted his focus from strictly offering beef shares to expanding into individual cuts and opening a retail outlet. But with great quality and service comes great success, and the business grew accordingly. Now, just four years since its inception, the Better Beef Company has already opened three locations (South Salem, Albany, and Corvallis — with more on the horizon!), added chicken, pork, milk, and eggs to their product line (with more to come in that department as well), and hired some amazingly talented and knowledgeable employees.

Better Beef Company’s philosophy is that everyone should have access to quality meat. As a result, they have kept their prices incredibly reasonable, especially when compared to other companies offering similar products. Quality is their number one priority, the heart and soul of the business, but it’s closely followed by exceptional customer service. Their goal has always been to create a modern butcher shop with the same amazing quality and unique cuts, but sold in a much more friendly retail atmosphere. They strive each day to see that dream come to fruition.

With free delivery inside a twenty-mile radius (minimum $75 purchase), all of your questions answered by their wonderful staff, additional items offered such as seasonings and pre-made boxes, not to mention the highest quality meat in the business, why would you shop anywhere else? Locally-owned and -operated by people who genuinely care about the community, the Better Beef Company resides in a class all its own. If you’ve never experienced pure, farm-to-table meat, now is your chance!
