Paving the Way Forward

For nearly 40 years, the team at Alamo Paving has worked tirelessly to make their community safer and more inviting. Company owner Carly Bykoski took time from her busy schedule to talk about her company’s legacy and what it means to serve her community.

Bykoski was just three years old when her father started Alamo Paving in 1986. As such, the second-generation paver explains that she grew up around the business. You might say asphalt was a part of her life well before she took over the company in 2017. Today, Bykoski runs the 12-person team of asphalt professionals as the owner of Alamo Paving, and she’s proud to say the company is “going strong.”
Alamo Paving is a full-service asphalt company that performs residential and commercial projects. Alamo Paving’s team members will happily complete any job, from a single pothole to replacing an entire parking lot; it doesn’t matter if your job is residential, commercial, or municipal. Bykoski says, “We’ve done work for various counties [throughout the region].
Last year, we did a lot of work for Clackamas County on several different roadways. We’ve also done streets, pathways and park improvements for Tualatin, Beaverton, and West Linn.” While Bykoski has taken steps to market the company since her takeover, she says it was “refreshing” to discover that Alamo Paving had a strong presence in the community.
“I was surprised how well word-of-mouth was working,”says Bykoski. “Paving isn’t usually a repeat customer business as there is minimal maintenance once a project is complete. However, because of our strong performance, quality work, and good customer service, we created this community network that kept us going for years.” “We stand behind what makes our company great,” continues Bykoski. “Good service, competitive pricing, and great customer service. I just want to continue that legacy.”
This steady stream of clients coming to the company are eager to work with Alamo Paving because of its reputation and willingness to handle everything asphalt-related, from filling potholes, paving driveways and parking lots, to seal coating and striping and everything in between. Given that expertise, it’s no small wonder that Alamo Paving is contracted to work throughout Oregon and Washington.

Their primary service areas are the Greater Portland Metro Area and Southern Washington, but Bykoski is quick to explain that they’re happy to go wherever there is work. “Right now, we have a crew up in Bellingham, Washington,” she explains. “We’ve gone out to the coast. We’ll go anywhere that’s needed.”
At the end of the day, Bykoski is proud to be beautifying and supporting her community and beyond. “We’re able to create something long-lasting and beautiful. New asphalt or seal coat enhances your overall curb appeal and creates a nice smooth surface for kids to enjoy riding a bike, hoverboarding, even coloring with sidewalk chalk,” she says of Alamo Paving’s work. “We also love to support our community, schools, and youth through school and sporting sponsorships. Next baseball, basketball, or wrestling event you attend, look for our banner and know we stand behind these young athletes.”
With its commitment to service and decades-long reputation for quality, Alamo Paving, a woman-owned business currently paving the Greater Portland Metro area, sees the sky as the limit.
